Role

To perform certain aspects of the reception function as well as procedures connected with the night audit. To ensure balancing of all relevant areas, correct banking and liaison with the cashier.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* To deliver five star service to all guests.
* To maintain a high level of personal hygiene and appearance, wearing the appropriate uniform*protective clothing*equipment. To set a good example with timekeeping.
* To work in co-operation with other departments, developing and maintaining working relationships with colleagues in your own and other departments.
* To attend meetings and hotel and departmental training sessions whenever instructed. To work with the hotel to maintain own personnel training certifcates.
* To adhere to the procedures for the security of keys, stock and company and personal property and report immediately any suspicious circumstances or people behaving strangely.
* To work safely, confirming to statutory and company health and safety regulations, especially with regard to fire precautions, manual handling, chemical usage and storage, disposal of waste materials and reporting of accidents. Comply with other related statutory regulations (e.g. COSHH).
* Arrive for duty in the agreed uniform and be ready to start work 5 minutes to the rostered start time.
* Receive full handover from the late receptionist and porterage staff.
* Making sure that all postings, bills, accounts, cash, and credit transactions, floats, adjustments, allowances, balancing and hand-over procedures are implemented proficiently.
* Complete all points on Night Auditor`s checklist, including the night audit reports.
* Answer internal and external calls, answering questions and transfering callers.
* Promote hotel`s services and facilities (River view, Deluxe rooms, Restaurant, Room Service, Bar, Lounge and Gym).
* Deal with customer compliments*complaints and offer assistance and help at all times.
* Deal with an emergencies as required, these may involve flooding, fire, gas, bomb and terrorist threats.
* Maintain security in the hotel at all times.

Occasional Duties

* Deputise for vacant positions in the front of house department and assist other departments during emergencies or as deemed necessary by the Night Manager or Duty Manager.
* Carry out other duties*tasks outside normal routines but within the overall scope of the job.
